Paradise Pilates & PT in PORT DOUGLAS is a Boutique Pilates, Movement & Wellness Studio in the relaxed palm tree haven of Plantation Resort.
We offer Mat & Barre Classes in Studio (max 8), as well as Livestream Classes, and Private/Duo & Small Group (3-4) Studio Apparatus and FUNctional Fitness Sessions. Of course, all sessions focus on correct form & function and the core principles of Pilates – Breath, Concentration, Centre, Precision, Control and Flow are paramount. We also offer tailored Health, Wellness and Lifestyle Coaching in partnership with Transformations Wellness.

Pursue wellness with a passion!
Hi, I’m Vanessa (Ness), I am the owner and Movement & Wellness Coach at Paradise Pilates. I have lived with Degenerative Disc Disease, Fibromyalgia and Hashimoto’s Autoimmune disease for many years. It seemed I’d have to accept that I would be in pain, and feel like shit forever.
My journey as a Personal Trainer began many moons ago (1996) when I was a young chickadee (I’m in my 50’s now). However, by my early 40’s, my injuries and illnesses had left me very unwell. I was unable to work, walking with a stick, in constant pain and around 40kg overweight, due to metabolic issues.
Then I discovered Pilates after getting whiplash in a car accident in 2013.
Pilates helped me to regain my strength and mobility very quickly.
As a result, I decided to become an instructor to help other people like me, struggling with injury and illness. This led to opening my first studio on the Mornington Peninsula in 2014. Then, after studying the highly renowned BASI Teacher Training, I moved to sunny Port Douglas and opened Paradise Pilates & PT in September 2019.

Mat Pilates is a gentle, effective way to improve core strength and stability, flexibility, mobility and posture. Over time you will develop your mind-body connection and improve movement patterns. This will help to reduce pain & prevent injuries. A fabulous way to lengthen and strengthen your body.
Barre Pilates is a fantastic fusion of Pilates, Dance & Fitness. This all over body workout helps firm & tone legs, arms, tummy and butt along with improving posture, flexibility & balance. With music pumping and cardio intervals throughout, it’s a great intense workout and lots of fun!
Reformer & Studio
Private & Duo Studio Apparatus Sessions use various Pilates equipment such as Reformer, Trapeze (Cadillac) Table and Wunda Chair. Designed to improve core strength and stability, postural issues and injuries. Tailored to your unique goals and needs.
